Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of shape must I be in to participate?
Our tours are challenging week long tours suited for fit athletes. Since bicycle riding is as strenuous as you make it, it is important to remember that the more prepared you are for a tour, the more fun you will have. You will benefit the most by prior conditioning and experience. Remember we have all day to complete each day’s mileage so enjoy the scenery, take pictures, and have fun.

How many miles per day do you go?
We generally ride between 50 and 80 miles per day on our road bike tours. It isn’t common, but every once and awhile we do a 100 mile day. Please refer to specific itineraries for daily mileage as well as elevation gain and loss.

What do I have to carry on my bike?
Other than snacks, energy drink/water and your camera, nothing! Our support vehicle carries all gear, including your luggage. Depending on weather you may want to carry rain gear.

Meals
Tour packages include lunch and snacks while riding.  We try to arrange hotels with continental breakfast and pick a local resturant where all can gather for dinner.

Support Vehicles
Our tours are riding tours, but if you are ill or hurt we have a support vehicle and driver that will take you to the next point on our tour. Our support vehicle carries all gear from point to point as well as food and drink throughout the days ride.
